Things that change after Labor Day in Myrtle Beach…

Myrtle Beach After Labor Day. Here’s a list of seasonal rules that kick in on Tuesday, September 5.
Dogs are again allowed on the beach at any time of day, but they must be on a leash of seven feet or shorter, and you must pick up after your pet and properly dispose of the droppings! From May 1 through Labor Day, dogs are only allowed on the beach before 10:00 a.m. and after 5:00 p.m.
Bicycles also are allowed on the beach at any time of day, from the day after Labor Day until May 1. During the summer months, though, bicycles (like dogs) are only allowed on the beach from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
After Labor Day, you can again use a tent, canopy or other shading device that’s up to 12-by-12 feet square. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, Myrtle Beach has an “umbrellas only” rule that took effect in 2014. By the way, umbrellas must be in line with or behind the umbrella line, while tents and canopies must be 10 feet behind the umbrella line.
And the splash pad at Futrell Park will be turned off after Labor Day and will be reactivated again come Memorial Day.
